Rare early Victorian sterling silver Viaticum Communion travelling set by the well-known silversmiths Charles Rawlings & William Summers.
Provenance: Deceased Graham W, Archdiocese of Birmingham.
In very good condition, with a few minor surface scratches, a tiny pinched dent inside the chalice, a small chip on the bottle neck, a small dent on the cap from the stopper, and some scuffs and wear on the box.
Marked CRWS, lion, leopard’s head, Queen Victoria's head, and letter F (London 1841).
Chalice: 8 cm (3.15 in) x 4 cm (1.57 in), weight 40.7 g.
Paten: 6.6 cm (2.60 in) x 1.2 cm (0.47 in), weight 25.7 g.
Case: 10.5 cm (4.13 in) x 11 cm (4.33 in) x 5.5 cm (2.17 in).
Total weight: 321 g.
