This is an original press photo. Trucks and motor drawn Howitzers of the 1st Battalion, 108th Field Artillery, Pennsylvania National Guard, speeding along the new $&0,000,000 Super Highway linking Harrisburg and Pittsburgh in a test of the war time value of the turnpike. Starting from Indiantown Gap, the battalion sped to Redford to "save" the town from "enemy attacks." Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 8-6-1940.
