King Tutankhamun, also known as Tutankhamen or simply King Tut, was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who ruled during the 18th Dynasty (New Kingdom period) of Egypt, from approximately 1332 BC to 1323 BC. He ascended the throne at a young age and is primarily known today for the discovery of his largely intact tomb in the Valley of the Kings in 1922.

Tutankhamun's reign was relatively short and unremarkable in terms of historical events. He is believed to have been the son of the pharaoh Akhenaten and his wife, who may have been one of Akhenaten's sisters. During his father's reign, Egypt underwent significant religious and cultural changes due to Akhenaten's focus on the worship of the sun god Aten and the abandonment of traditional religious practices.
