Chloramphenicol 1% Eye Ointment is an antibiotic treatment used to relieve and treat bacterial conjunctivitis and other superficial eye infections.
It helps clear up redness, stickiness, discharge, and irritation caused by bacterial growth on the surface of the eye.

Chloramphenicol eye ointment is effective in treating:
Bacterial conjunctivitis (red or sticky eyes)
Blepharitis (eyelid inflammation)
Eye infections caused by common bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Haemophilus influenzae, and Streptococcus pneumoniae
Chloramphenicol works by preventing bacteria from producing essential proteins, stopping their growth and allowing your body’s immune system to clear the infection.
Wash hands before and after use.
Pull down the lower eyelid and apply a small amount (about 1cm) of ointment to the affected eye(s).
Apply every 3 hours (up to 6 times daily) while awake, or as directed by a doctor or pharmacist.
Continue treatment for at least 48 hours after symptoms clear.
Tip: If you’re also using eye drops, apply the drops first and wait at least 5 minutes before applying the ointment.
For eye use only.
Do not use if allergic to chloramphenicol or any other ingredients.
Avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment.
Seek medical advice if:
Symptoms worsen or persist after 48 hours.
You experience blurred vision or severe irritation.
You have had previous eye infections or glaucoma.
Not recommended for infants under 2 years without medical supervision.
Chloramphenicol is generally well tolerated.
Some users may experience:
Mild burning or stinging sensation
Temporary blurred vision
Eye irritation or redness
If you notice swelling, rash, or difficulty breathing, stop using immediately and seek medical help.

Other ingredients: Liquid paraffin, soft white paraffin.
Store below 25°C in a dry place.
Do not freeze.
Discard 28 days after opening.
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
