Early W.H. Barber patent hand drill. Looks to be pre Millers Falls and probably made by G.A.& S, the tool is unmarked and shows no makers marks, hard to say with 100% certainty and a rather rare bit brace. The brace shows age and has some spots of rust but in good shape for the age. The top handle is solid, bottom side has some tiny stress cracks but nothing that would affect the integrity of the brace or handle. Chuck shows wear but fully functionable.
