Movado Calendograph Chronograph Antique Watch Fb Case Vintage Swiss JP H10
Description
Swiss Manufacture
Movado
Introducing a mechanical hand-wound watch from around the 1940s.
*This is a Calendograph, famous for its complicated movements, and said to have been favored by British politician Winston Churchill.
*This is a triple calendar watch with a "month" window at the 3 o'clock position, a "day of the week" at the 9 o'clock position, and a distinctive red pointer indicating the "date" around the dial, along with a small seconds hand. It's a perfectly balanced design, full of vintage charm.
*The stainless steel case is made by François Borgel (FB company) and features a patented double-layered case called "Aquabatic," providing water resistance, dust resistance, and anti-magnetic properties at the time of manufacture. (Current functionality is not guaranteed)
*The dial shows some discoloration and dirt due to age (slight dirt near the 3 o'clock window), but there is no major damage.
The luminous parts of the hour and minute hands appear to have been repainted later.
(The luminous paint on the hands and numbers does not seem to be working.)
The case has some minor scratches due to age, but no major damage.
(These are subjective observations, so please judge from the photos.)
*Overall, considering it's nearly 80 years old, it's a very stylish and atmospheric piece.
*The service history is unknown, but currently, the crown winding feels good, and it's running within 120 seconds per day (varies depending on position).
(We recommend future servicing.)
*The month is changed by pushing the upper button, and the date is changed by pushing the lower button.
(Both can be changed without problems, but the push buttons are slightly stiff.)
The day of the week is changed by rotating the hands.
Case size: Approximately 32 mm in diameter (excluding the crown)
*A Movado Calendograph that any antique watch enthusiast would want to own at least once.
It's a highly regarded piece. It's rarely seen on the market, and will likely become even rarer in the future.
