Item Condition Grading System We apply the following grading criteria to describe the condition of items available for purchase.

Note on CDs - Standard Jewel Cases: Standard jewel cases are not included in the grading, as they are replaceable.

Mint (M)

Vinyl Flawless in every aspect. Likely never played and possibly still sealed.

CD Impeccable condition. No scratches or scuffs, potentially unplayed and still sealed. Inserts, inlays, booklets, sleeves, or digipaks are pristine, showing no wear, marks, or imperfections, and may remain sealed.

Near Mint (NM or M-)

Vinyl Virtually flawless. An NM- record is likely unplayed, with perfect playback and no audible imperfections. The vinyl shows no significant wear. Sleeves for 45 RPMs or EPs may have minimal handling marks. LP covers will lack creases, folds, seam splits, or other notable flaws. Inserts like posters or lyric sheets will also be in excellent condition.

CD Nearly flawless. May have been played but handled with great care. No evident signs of use. Inserts, inlays, booklets, sleeves, or digipaks are near perfect, with only the faintest handling marks, if any.

Very Good Plus (VG+)

Vinyl Shows minor signs of use from careful handling by a previous owner. Imperfections are primarily cosmetic and do not significantly impact playback. Surfaces may have light wear, faint scuffs, or very minor scratches that don’t affect sound quality. Slight, non-audible warps are acceptable. Spindle marks may be visible. Picture sleeves or inner sleeves may show slight wear, minimal writing on sleeve, mildly turned corners, or a minor seam split. LP covers may have subtle wear, such as a cut-out hole, indentation, or corner cut.

CD Exhibits a few light scuffs or scratches. The disc has been played but treated with care and not mistreated. Inserts, inlays, booklets, sleeves, or digipaks may show slight wear, faint marks, or minor indentations, possibly including a cut-out hole.

Very Good (VG)

Vinyl Defects are more noticeable than in VG+. Surface noise may be audible during quiet passages, intros, or fades, but it won’t dominate the music. Groove wear becomes evident, and light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) may affect sound. Labels, picture sleeves, or LP covers may have writing, tape, stickers, or residue. Covers may show more pronounced wear, such as seam splits or other blemishes.

CD Multiple light scuffs or scratches, or a few more noticeable ones. The disc has been played and shows signs of less careful handling than VG+. Inserts, inlays, booklets, sleeves, or digipaks have more visible wear, marks, or indentations than VG+, potentially with slight fading, small tears, or writing.

Good Plus (G+)

Vinyl Playable without skipping, but expect significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. Covers or sleeves may have seam splits, particularly at the bottom or spine, along with tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects. Playback will include noticeable noise and ticks, though the record remains functional.

CD Numerous scuffs or scratches are present, but the disc plays without issues. It has been handled with minimal care. Inserts, inlays, booklets, sleeves, or digipaks show considerable wear, with more pronounced marks, fading, indentations, or possibly significant tears or writing.
