Neal’s story in baseball took him on a trip to the World Series in 1959. After a memorable season, where he played in 151 games and led the league in triples and batted 286 for the year while knocking out 19 home runs and winning the gold glove—in spite of these achievements—Neal sparkled in the World Series where he knocked out 10 hits in 27 at bats, a dazzling 370 clip, that included two doubles, two home runs, and six RBIs that put the White Sox away after a long campaign. Neal played eight years in the majors, ‘59 his finest year, before calling it quits in ‘64.
