A-50 (product "A", from NATO codification: Mainstay - "Oplot") - a long-range radar detection and control aircraft. Created on the basis of the Il-76 military transport aircraft. The A-50 can be used to detect and track air and surface targets, notify command posts of automated control systems of the Armed Forces about the air and surface situation, be used to control fighter and strike aircraft when they are aimed at air, ground and sea targets, and also serve as an air command post.

The set consists of:
