This listing is for a very scarce 1960's Aldo Londi for Bitossi ceramic cigarette/cigar/pipe ashtray. This ashtray was imported from Italy and distributed in the United States by Raymor of New York. The piece features a large scale, low centerpiece bowl with an earth tone colored glaze exterior and an interior abstract design of raised circular and diamond shapes covered with fused clear & blue-green glass, also called "fritte colorate." Stamped on the underside "Italy" with the model number hand painted in black.

Overall good condition for its age. Exterior has a some small "flea bites" (photographed) and some crazing to the glaze finish. The fused glass interior is somewhat dull and has what appears to be minor calcification. This calcification may be removable and the fused glass polished but I will leave that to you.

This is a must have for the collector of Italian Ceramics, Ashtrays, or Decorative Bowls/Dishes from the Mid Century Era.
