Vintage framed nude print on board by Leo Jansen (1930-1980) the artist of 'Playboy' Playmate of the Month 1970s.

Very good condition, a few light scratches only visible under certain light.

Born in Holland, Jansen moved to Indonesia when he was ten and began sketching bronze-skinned Malaysian girls for leisure. He returned to the Netherlands to study at the Academy of Art and then moved to Paris where be became established himself as a portraitist of considerable talent.  In 1962, he arrived in New York where he initially became known for his Mother's Day plates and puppies plate series. Soon after he was in demand among the rich and famous for his portraiture with clients including Raquel Welch, William Holden, Donald Sutherland, Stephanie Powers, and the "L.A. Times" Hearst family.  Among his most famous portraits are the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

After moving to Southern California he was commissioned by Playboy Magazine to paint the "Playmate of the Month". In his first six years, he was the artist chosen to paint 58 out of 72 portraits. His work for Playboy spanned 18 years before his death in 1980.
