Zozoville
If you think that this "Ville" is not real, we will tell you: It is. It was built by two great artists - the American artist and illustrator Matthew Dinein and the Danish artist Johan Potma. Well, come to their gallery, which they opened in the heart of Berlin, and find out what secrets they will reveal to you. Matthew says about himself that he remembers his childhood, which was filled with his crazy drawings, with which he created his own shelters, where he could hide and save himself from the gray everyday life. He says that for him the decisive factor was... the movie Star Wars. It was from its broadcast onwards that Matthew dreamed of being able to create monsters and that this would be his job. And that's what happened! Johan Potma is a Danish artist living and working in Berlin. He works mainly with acrylics and collages, using old wooden surfaces as a base. The materials that go into his works tell the story themselves – from the stains on the surfaces, through the dents, cracks, sometimes even old nails and teeth are added. Everything else is told by the monsters and eccentrics that he paints. And they take on a life of their own. Now, Heye has recreated some of the most impressive works of the two artists, turning them into puzzles.
