I purchased this oboe new from Howarth in February 1996, and it helped me get into music college. I played regularly until about 1999, since when this lovely instrument has been sitting in its case. I’m only hanging onto it for sentimental reasons, but it would be put to much better use by another aspiring musician, so it’s time to part ways.
It’s just had a service, and still plays beautifully despite its age, helped by the fact it is so lightly used. The original grease pot is unfortunately missing, but otherwise it’s perfect.
