The "U1" is crafted from Sinn's proprietary U-Boat steel, the same steel used in German submarines.
The brand boasts that "no other steel offers such high levels of seawater resistance and magnetic resistance." Furthermore, the surface is treated with black PVD for a high level of scratch resistance of 1500 Vickers.
