OVERVIEW

The Dunlop Winter Maxx SJ8 is a touring winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.

The tire promotes excellent winter weather traction. The special Nano-Fit tread compound is made especially for winter weather conditions to ensure maximal driving safety. This is combined with the tread design's groove pattern and siping detail to ensure enhanced road grip while driving on ice and snow-covered road surfaces. The four wide circumferential grooves and the open shoulder design boost the hydroplaning resistance as they effectively eliminate water and slush from below the tire's footprint. The Maxx Sharp Edge with Miura-Ori sipes increase the number of biting edges to guarantee first-rate winter weather performance.

The model's internal structure features a two-ply polyester casing and twin steel belts reinforced with a two-ply nylon cap, that ensures exceptional comfort and handling. The polyester casing enables the tire to closely follow the road surface as it prevents deformation to the optimal shape. This actively absorbs the shock of driving and lowers the road vibrations felt in the vehicle's cabin during the drive. The directional tread design and the strengthened steel belts improve the tire's controllability. They upgrade the steering responsiveness and the driving stability by maintaining constant road contact, making the tire more responsive to the driver's instructions.

The Winter Maxx SJ8 ensures a longer lasting tread life. The heightened number of biting edges and siping detail on the tread elements actively prevent block distortion. This allows the tire to evenly distribute the driving pressure along the tread area, preventing irregular tread wear formations. The constant even wear greatly extends the tread life and the tire's usability. The tread area also features special snow wear bars. They indicate when the tire's tread wear reaches a point where is loses its excellent winter weather traction. After that point that tire is no longer safe to be used in extreme winter conditions.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
