How to operate
1. Place the applicator on a completely flat test surface. Adjust the scraper to the required gap; it should be twice the required wet film thickness.
2. Pour a small amount of test sample between the end plates in front of the film knife. At a slow and even speed, about 1-2cm per second.
3. Move the instrument over the surface until the liquid has been fully applied and/or any remaining liquid has been removed from the end of the coating path.
4. The exact ratio of wet film thickness to any coating knife gap depends on the material used, the viscosity and texture of the liquid, the force applied to the coating knife, the coating speed, and the geometry of the coating edge.
5. The actual wet film applied should be measured using a wet film thickness gauge and the gap adjusted until the desired wet film thickness is achieved.

The KTQ-II Adjustable Preparer is ideal for the study of the precise assessment of film thickness nuances. It adjusts the underlying squeegee up and down to adjust the gap, ie the final coating thickness, by adjusting the two differentiators above the preparation. Usage details:
Used to achieve uniform film thickness on a flat substrate.
Due to the adjustable gap, it can reduce the need for various fixed gap applicators.
The gap can be set between 0 and 3500 microns, and the gap of the scraper can be adjusted in units of 10 microns.
The adjustable applicator is available in a variety of film widths, and the width can be selected between 50 and 300mm.
The applicator has an extended edge to gather the coating during the coating process, and can manually apply high-concentration and viscosity liquids on a solid and flat substrate.
Maintenance and Care
After each use, clean the instrument immediately with an appropriate solvent.
The ends of the scraper move in the slot, which must remain free of test sample material at all times.
The micrometer head may occasionally need to be repositioned to correct for wear or misalignment. To achieve such an adjustment, the assembly must be lowered or raised.
This can be achieved by loosening (not removing) the two concealed set screws on each micrometer.
