Festool Domino Biscuits 20mm - 50mm
SAME DAY DISPATCH IF YOU ORDER BEFORE 12:00 (MON-FRI)
Festool Domino tenons, often called biscuits, come in various sizes. To determine the appropriate size, consider the thickness of the material being joined and the desired strength of the joint.
Determining Domino Size:- Material Thickness: As a general rule, the mortise depth should be about 1/3 of the material thickness. For example, for 3/4" (19mm) material, an 8mm cutter is often suitable.
- Joint Strength: Larger Dominos offer more glue surface area and thus stronger joints. For heavier-duty applications, larger Dominos (e.g., 10mm or 12mm) may be preferable.
- Domino vs. Biscuit Sizes: Festool Dominoes are different from traditional wood biscuits. Dominoes are tenons that fit into mortises cut by the Domino machine, while biscuits are thin, oval-shaped pieces of compressed wood.
- Nominal vs. Actual Size: Be aware that the actual length of a Domino may vary slightly from its nominal size. For example, 8x50 Dominos might measure 48.5mm in length.
