Vintage Lot 450+ First National Bank Barnegat NJ Cancelled Checks Tuckerton NJ

Moderate but very noticeable signs of wear and tear present throughout. Moderate staining, creasing, tears, writing/penciling, fold-lines, loss, curling, and other condition issues present throughout. All checks bear cancellation marks. These checks were for G. Sterling Otis of Tuckerton, New Jersey. Checks are mostly from the 1920s with a couple of other decades mixed in. Note the Barnegat Lighthouse on the checks "The Light That Never Fails". George Sterling Otis (1896-1989) was born on October 21st, 1896 in Tuckerton, New Jersey to James Edgar Otis (1850-1935), and Henrietta P.  Mott (1854-1918). George served in the U.S. Navy during World War I. Checks were manufactured by Brown, Lent & Pett and Bankers Supply Co. in New York. An amazing collection of local checks associated to someone in Tuckerton!
