This is a root system or possibly wood burl. I find them on Lake Weiss in Alabama.  I know they're not hollow because I cut one open with a saw, and it was solid wood throughout.  They're both interesting and beautiful. I think it would be perfect for a Floral Designer or even cleaned and sealed to use as a conversation piece. Measuring 4" to 9"
