Synopsis:
Ranma and Genma arrive at the Tendo dojo. Soun Tendo wants Ranma to marry one of his daughters—Akane is chosen.
We learn about the Jusenkyo curse: cold water turns Ranma into a girl, Genma into a panda.
Akane and Ranma clash constantly, but a bond begins to form.
Ranma meets several rivals:
Ryoga Hibiki, who turns into a pig (P-chan) and blames Ranma for his curse.
Shampoo, a Chinese Amazon who loves Ranma's female form, but wants to kill the male one.
Shampoo later becomes obsessed with male Ranma and follows him to Japan.
Introduction of Mousse, another Chinese martial artist in love with Shampoo, who sees Ranma as a rival.
Kuno Tatewaki, the delusional upperclassman, continues to chase both Akane and girl-type Ranma.
Ranma faces off against:
Principal Kuno, a Hawaiian-themed sadist who terrorizes Furinkan High.
Tsubasa Kurenai, a cross-dressing boy obsessed with Ukyo.
Ukyo Kuonji is introduced: a childhood friend, martial arts okonomiyaki chef, and one of Ranma’s fiancées.
Ranma starts to display more jealousy and concern for Akane, though both are in deep denial.
Happosai, the perverted and powerful founder of the Anything-Goes school, is introduced. He causes havoc and is a recurring comedic menace.
Akane is briefly transformed into a duck (mirror curse), creating tension as Ranma shows care.
Ranma competes in multiple martial arts contests:
Martial arts rhythmic gymnastics
Tea ceremony battles
Supermarket battles
The romantic confusion increases:
Shampoo uses magical items to seduce Ranma.
Ukyo and Akane form a reluctant alliance against Shampoo.
Ryoga continues to hide his P-chan identity from Akane.
Several training arcs show Ranma trying to cure his curse or improve skills:
Training with herb soup that could reverse the Jusenkyo curse.
Competing for magical items that grant wishes or transformation relief.
Ranma’s feelings for Akane grow deeper, and he becomes visibly more protective.
Akane shows signs of affection but refuses to admit it.
New characters like Gosunkugi (the gloomy boy who crushes on Akane) and more Jusenkyo victims add to the complexity.
Shampoo and Mousse continue their pursuit, but Ranma never reciprocates.
Ranma faces increasingly bizarre opponents and magical artifacts.
Ranma is torn between his pride, his curse, and his feelings.
Akane and Ranma are clearly in love but stubbornly avoid saying it.
Comedy remains central—especially gender confusion, magical mishaps, and love rival antics.
Despite the chaos, Ranma grows both as a martial artist and a character, showing empathy, loyalty, and hints of emotional maturity.
