Hotel Villa Magna opened its doors in May 1972 on one of Madrid's most coveted boulevards. The hotel was built on the former site of the historic Anglada Palace, a Moorish-inspired mansion demolished in the 1960s that featured architecture reminiscent of Granada's famous Alhambra.
The Anglada Palace had been known for its stunning patio modeled after the Court of Lions and lavish garden parties that attracted Madrid's high society. The chronicles of the era described the palace's harmony and delicacy before it gave way to this modern luxury hotel.
Located in the heart of the prestigious Salamanca district, the hotel quickly became a flagship destination and meeting place for international travelers and Spanish elite. The property sits near the renowned Golden Triangle of Art, home to the Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza, and Reina Sofia museums.
