             This book describes the struggle of a block of Western Senators for the reacceptance of silver. The drive to force the Treasury to buy the white metal was led by three powerful members of the US Senate -- Key Pittman of Nevada, William E. Borah of Idaho, and Burton K. Wheeler of Montana. The momentous controversy was to involve Franklin D. Roosevelt and the first New Deal and leave International repercussions in its wake.
