A used scanner that takes a little practice to use, but can be very effective.  It had a bunch of receipts and recipes on it. 

I had to clean up the battery compartment and now it works.  

It comes with decent batteries and a 16 Gbyte class 10 (fairly fast) micro SD card and adapter (so you can used the SD card in other devices - the Nikon camera I use takes the SDHC cards).   Nothing else to buy.  And the SD card can be used for other devices when not using the scanner.  

It does add faint streaks though - I have cleaned the lens and I am not sure why.   Perhaps another cleaning will help it, but I included a bunch of example scans so you can see how it works and what you will get from it.

Scans black/white (greyscale) or Color, 300x300 bpi or 600x500 bpi - so pretty good scan rate.   

The usb mini cable to USB A 2.0 will fit most computers, even old ones, and the advantage here is that unlike taking a picture with your phone, this is absolute security until the image gets on your computer or someone takes the 16 Gbyte memory out of it.  Anything with a USB A slot (standard) will just consider the PASS 100 a memory device so no drivers or software required.  Then edit with whatever you like.   

Comes with instructions and a white balance card to get colors right.   The colors match up well and I have set the time on it.   

The streaks are of no issue if you are doing receipts, etc.   Pictures, could be annoying.  See for yourself.   You make the call. 

Press the on button for a couple of seconds and it comes to life.  Press again and move to scan.  Press again to stop.  

According to their specs with 16 gbytes that would be some 3000+ 600x500 dpi photos.
