The 'Blaster Master Zero' series is a popular title developed and published by Inti Creates under license from 'Super Planet War Chronicle Metafight,' a Family Computer game released in 1988 by Sunsoft, a brand of Sun Electronics Co., Ltd.


The game features a “hybrid exploration action” gameplay structure combining a side-view map where players control the all-purpose combat vehicle “Sofia-III” to explore areas, and a top-down view map where players control the protagonist “Jason” to explore dungeons. The graphics are based on the Family Computer software 'Super Planet War Chronicle Metafight' (the first title), with an 8-bit style pixel art design inspired by the 2D games of the Family Computer's heyday, with arrangements optimized for current-generation consoles.
