Antique Vintage Oak Mappin & Webb Flatware Chest Made For Prince’s & Queen’s Plate. The last 2 photos show examples of how this chest was originally used. The base measures 16 1/4" x 20 5/8" and it is 10" high; weighs 21 pounds 6 ounces. It is made of paneled oak with the original honey finish. Extremely rare find, no others listed anywhere past of present that I could find and none on eBay for at least 3 years and perhaps never listed on eBay. The yop has a brass plate with engraved monogram. Has some normal age wear to the edges, overall it is quite solid & sturdy. It is missing the 3 trays (this did not have traditional drawers but instead used pull out wooden trays), it has the original key which does turn the lock mechanism but I could not get the lock to fully secure shut, the lock part is missing the tiny escutcheon - see the many detailed photos.
