Installation Tutorial

Preparation Work

1. Safety First: Park the vehicle on a flat, stable surface, turn off the engine and engage the handbrake. Wait 10–15 minutes for the headlight housing to cool down completely—residual heat can cause burns.
2. Tool & Accessory Prep: Prepare a clean pair of gloves (to avoid oil stains on the bulb), a small flat-head screwdriver (if needed to remove protective covers), and a clean cloth.
3. Power Cut Reminder: Do not turn on the headlights during installation to prevent electrical short circuits.

Step 1: Access the Bulb Housing

1. Open the vehicle hood and locate the back of the headlight assembly.
2. Remove the plastic dust cover by twisting it counterclockwise (the cover is usually marked with an unlock direction).

Step 2: Remove the Old Bulb

1. Locate the power connector at the back of the old D8S bulb. Press the locking tab gently and pull the connector away from the bulb.
2. Find the metal or plastic retainer clip that secures the bulb. Push the clip aside to release it (do not bend the clip excessively to avoid damage).
3. Pull the old bulb straight out of the headlight housing—do not twist or force it, as this may damage the internal reflective bowl.

Step 3: Install the New D8S Bulb

1. Wear gloves at all times: Oil from your fingers will create hot spots on the bulb, leading to premature burnout.
2. Align the positioning pins of the new bulb with the slots in the headlight housing. Insert the bulb straight into the housing until it clicks into place.
3. Reattach the retainer clip to lock the bulb firmly—ensure the clip is fully engaged to prevent the bulb from loosening while driving.
4. Plug the power connector back into the new bulb until you hear a "click" sound, confirming a secure connection.

Step 4: Reassemble and Test

1. Replace the plastic dust cover by twisting it clockwise until it is fully locked—this prevents water and dust from entering the headlight assembly.
2. Turn on the vehicle power (do not start the engine) and activate the headlights. Check if the new bulb lights up smoothly and emits a stable 6000K cold white light.
3. Close the hood after confirming normal operation.

Installation Notes

• If the bulb does not light up after installation, check the power connector and retainer clip to ensure they are properly fitted.
• For models with limited space in the engine bay, you may need to remove nearby components temporarily (refer to your vehicle’s maintenance manual if needed).
