The 2001 Sierra Leone $1 "The Big Five" Rhino coin is a beautiful piece featuring a striking design of a rhinoceros. "The Big Five" refers to the top desired animals to see while on Safari in Africa: Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, Lion, and Rhino.

This coin is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, is 38.6mm in diameter, is made from copper-nickel, and was purchased directly from the Pobjoy Mint before the mint closed down, and comes in a clear plastic "Air-Tite" coin capsule.  The photographs are all taken of the same coin at different angles and show how the light interacts with the coin's semi-reflective surface.  It is not a true "proof" coin (i.e. it does not have a mirror finish), but the coin is highly reflective and is very pleasing to the eye.

As we are selling several of these coins, your coin may vary slightly from the one photographed, especially under magnification. The most common variation would be a very small amount of toning or discoloration, or a small nick on the rim.  Any coins that have obvious visual issues will be photographed and listed separately - coins with obvious issues will not be sold through this listing. This coin is very difficult to find, especially in good condition and would add a special touch to any coin collection.
