THE VILLAGE SCHOOLHOUSE is a rare collectible  bookplate of Maxfield Parrish's 1937 painting. The painting is a very early Parrish landscape painting, but never used in the well known Brown and Bigelow Calendar prints serious. The painting is often  misidentified as THE COUNTRY SCHOOLHOUSE.

Other than bookplates, there are no known reproductions of the painting, THIS IS A VARY RARE MAXFIELD PARRISH BOOKPLATE, there are no known comercial prints. and no listing in  Identification  and Price Guides are available.  This is bookplate is from an 1998 first edition MAXFIELD THE LANDSCAPE by Alma Gilbert.
   
This matted and framed bookplate is not a reproduction but a collectable bookplate.  
Bookplates are page illustrations printed separately, and bound in during publications  Due to the process used  for platings, they retain the color, texture, intensity if the original painting. They are  usually from 1st edition or deluxe and are not considered to be reproductions. but rather limited to that actual printing.
The high quality semi-gloss paper size is 6 1/4"x 11" and actual image size is 6 1/2" x 8". the matted and framed size is 16"x14"x1 1/4"
