About the Artist – Joel Kirk (1948–2020):

Joel Kirk was a celebrated wildlife artist born in Surrey, England, in 1948. A lifelong nature enthusiast, he became known for his precise, photorealistic portrayals of big cats, birds of prey, and African wildlife. Kirk studied at Southend College of Art and quickly rose to prominence as a freelance artist.

His works have been exhibited internationally and sold through notable venues such as Harrods, and he partnered with major art publishers throughout the 1970s–1990s. Beyond his artistic talent, Kirk was also a passionate conservationist, donating work to organizations like the Born Free Foundation and the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
