This is an original press photo. Gibraltar, Defensive Rock - Gibraltar is a peninsula three miles long, 1,400 feet high, and seven miles in circumference, joined to the Spanish mainland by a low, sandy isthmus nearly a mile wide. It is Britain's oldest possession in the Mediterranean. Pictures show: Left: Modern apartment block, the Cruz family in foreground, is part of a $5.6 million scheme for housing local people.
