Folio, first edition, pp. 155, light green cloth boards with gilt-stamped lettering on spine and upper panel, slipcased, original Chagall lithograph bound in. This book was inspired by Chagall's work on modern dance sets including Daphnis and Chloe, The Firebird and Aleko, with numerous double-page color illustrations. The lithograph, showing two dancers and faun, is often removed from the book and framed.
