It has an ornately decorated front with a special hinged compartment with a rare additional strike containing a small piece of slate? for striking. Please see pictures, is is a rare addition to a match safe. The back has a different ornate decorative design which also incorporates flowers.

It is stamped sterling on the lip of the case on both sides.
