Here is a rare opportunity to own a wonderful blue on white, transfer printed earthenware vegetable dish by Ralph Stevenson & Williams in the Beehive & vases pattern, circa 1830. The pattern consists of a busy border of scrolled leaves, flowers (including thistles and wild roses) and vases surrounds a central cartouche showing a beehive seated in a field of flowers and leaves, with six buzzing honey bees superimposed over a background of fluffy white clouds in a blue sky. The rim of the dish has a narrow border of repeating flowers and the base has a lovely combed back.

The vegetable dish measures approximately 10.5 inches long by 7.5 inches wide and sits 2 inches from the table. No discernible marks to base. No chips or obvious restoration observed, the reverse shows crazing typical for the age and visible in photos.
