Presenting for sale is a wonderful primitive hand woven medium sized basket measuring approximately 12"h (bottom to top of handle) x 6"h (basket body) x 13"w (bottom diameter) x 9" (top diameter). Materials used include natural palm husks and vines. Likely made by indigenous people of North America in the early 19th century based on my research. Very attractive and well constructed.

Perfect statement piece for your rustic, farmhouse or Southwestern decor filled with flowers or fruit. Or use as a catch all in your entryway.

Two vines woven together at the top serve as the handle and add sturdiness and interest. Palm leaves cover about 2/3 of the woven body and bottom likely intended to hold water at one time.

Condition is excellent commensurate with age. Imperfections include a tear spot in leaves and some broken twigs, which only add to its vintage charm.

Please review all photos as they are part of the description.

Don't wait to own this one of a kind piece of American folk art.

Thanks for visiting my shop!
