Rare, rare, rare.  This little brooch from Coro is very hard to find.  The patent shown above Design Patent number 162,418 granted March, 1951 was signed by A. Katz, Coro's head designer.  The brooch is signed under the finish with the Pegasus Coro mark so is hard to read except by the shape and the © sign below it.  It was designed with a faux pearl face on the balloon seller and many colors of rhinestones decorate his balloon as well as the flower cart next to him:  clear, blue, pink, green, yellow, and purple.  There is even a red fire plug next to him.  So much going on in this charming design!

Measurements:  About 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"

Condition:  Please see all pictures for more about condition.  There are dark spots on the stand.  Some light clouding of colors.  There is finish loss on the bottom left side.  The hinge looks like it has been pinched together a little.  One of the baguettes on the bottom stand is a little out of line....but it doesn't feel loose.  There is yellowed glue around the faux pearl.  If you have questions, please contact me through eBay.
