This is an original press photo. Quito, Ecuador, is a long way from Elm Grove, Wisconsin in more ways than distance. And shoe-shine boys usually don't have much in common with math teachers. But here in a wood-paneled room off the main entrance of a spacious Elm Grove home, Patricia Parks coordinates an educational program in Quito that is growing so rapidly that its name has been changed from the Working Boys' Center to Family Unity International Inc. Borja is one of those success stories all projects love. One of the original shoe-shine boys back in 1964 when he was 11, Borja, now 36, is being groomed as a center director once Halligan steps down. Photo measures 10 x 6.75inches.
