This is a factory sealed Intermountain HO Scale 60' PS-1 Single Door Boxcar in the Union Pacific paint scheme. The road number is UP 960445 (Item #46909-34). This car is ready-to-run.
Beginning in the 1960's, automakers approached rail carriers with the desire for larger freight cars to transport auto parts from suppliers to manufacturing centers. In response, the 60' auto parts boxcar was introduced. Carrying a wide variety of auto components including engine blocks, transmissions, brake drums, and others, these cars were a fixture throughout North America for the next four decades and can still be found in service today. Often times, entire trains of auto parts and related cars could be seen near major production facilities as automakers switched to just-in-time delivery methods, requiring prompt deliveries from the railroads providing service. It was common to see trains consisting of 50', 60', and 86' boxcars, specially modified flat cars to carry lightweight chassis, and autoracks all destined for one auto or truck manufacturing facility. As the auto industry supply chains evolved and manufacturing facilities were consolidated, many of the 60' boxcars were used in other markets and could be found hauling a variety of goods including appliances, paper goods, cardboard, and similar items.

Shipping
My-Hobby ships Monday through Friday excluding US holidays.
We prepare, pack and electronically notify our shippers of the shipment of your order each "Shipping Day" between 11:00 am to 3:00 pm Central time zone Monday through Friday (excluding holidays and vacations). Orders released for shipment prior to 3:00pm are processed on that day.
Transfer of Parcels - 7:00pm to 9:30 am
Parcels are delivered to the various carriers after the close of our Business Day, between 7:00 pm of the "Shipping Day" and 9:30 am the following morning.
Worst Case example:
If you place an order and it is released by PayPal for shipment after 3:00 pm on the Friday afternoon before a Monday Holiday, that order will be processed the next "Shipping Day" which is the following Tuesday. (Friday evening, Saturday, Sunday and the Monday holiday are not shipping days)
USPS Express Mail (2-3 business day delivery in the U.S.)
Depending on when your order is submitted and PayPal releases the order to us as "OK to ship", the time of delivery that eBay estimates may not be valid as the actual "Guaranteed Delivery" time of the United States Postal Service. The difference often varies 24 hours or more.
The USPS only guarantees delivery for an Express Parcel after the shipping fee is paid to them and the label printed by the shipper.
We have no control over the USPS and make NO Guarantees beyond the USPS Guaranteed Delivery time.
When your order is processed during our "Shipping Day" the label is printed and tracking information is provided to you "the customer" through eBay. The customer can then view the actual Guaranteed Delivery time by entering the tracking number on USPS.com.
