How To Install A Starter Motor:

1.Disconnect the Negative Battery Cable
The first step is to disconnect the negative battery cable. This will ensure that you don’t accidentally electrocute yourself while working on the starter. To do this, simply loosen the nut on the cable with a socket wrench and pull it off. If your car has an extension cord, you can plug it in now to give yourself some extra light.

2.Locate the Starter
The next step is to locate the starter. It’s usually located on the side of the engine near the bottom. In most cases, it will be close to the front of the car. Once you’ve found it, you can begin removing it.

3.Remove the Starter
Now that you’ve located the starter, it’s time to remove it. To do this, you’ll need to disconnect the wires that are attached to it. In most cases, there will be two – one positive and one negative. Once they’re disconnected, you can remove the bolts that hold the starter in place with a socket wrench. Be sure to keep track of which bolts go where, as they may not all be the same size.

4.Install the New Starter
Now it’s time to install the new starter. Begin by connecting the wires to the correct terminals. In most cases, the positive wire will go to the top terminal and the negative wire will go to the bottom terminal. Once they’re connected, you can bolt the starter into place. Be sure to use the correct size bolts and tighten them securely.

5.Reconnect the Negative Battery Cable

The last step is to reconnect the negative battery cable. Simply put the nut back on and tighten it with a socket wrench. Once it’s tight, your starter replacement is complete!
