This is an original press photo. El Arish scene - El Arish, United Arab Republic: Israeli soldiers view barefoot Egyptian prisoners who place their hands on their heads and lie face down in a compound near El Arish June 7th. Commenting on the performance of Egyptian soldiers at the United Arab Republic's El Arish outpost, an Israeli captain said June 8th that "most of them just took off their shoes and ran." He said that they apparently found it easier to run without shoes in the thick desert sand.Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 06-08-1967.
