The Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are the largest independent branch of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the main carrier of their combat power, designed to conduct combat operations mainly on land. 

The ground forces play a key role in the fight against Russian aggression: defense of Kyiv, liberation of northern Ukraine, Kharkiv counter-offensive, liberation of the right bank of Kherson region, and deterrence of the occupier along the entire front line.
