BELIZARIO GIOJA (b1829 - d 1906), Italian, Listed.

Title: "ITALIAN PEASANT WOMAN IN TRADITIONAL DRESS".

WATERCOLOR:  13.5"  x  19.5".

In ORIGINAL Wood Frame:  23.75"  x  29.75".   This original gilded frame with glass is in very good condition with minor couple of chips on the edge (pictures ##9 and 10).

BELISARIO GIOJA was a talented turn of the Century Italian artist.  He is known for detailed paintings in genre, portraits, cardinals, interiors, gardens, rivers, and ox carts.  I was able to locate Auction sales records for this artist in excess of tens of thousands of dollars.  Picture #11 above illustrates some examples of action records on artist.
