French Toasted Oak Flakes 50g
French Heavily Toasted Oak Flakes are the perfect way to give liquors a unique, deep character, comparable to long aging in an oak barrel.
Made from high quality French oak (Quercus sessiflora and Quercus robur), these flakes are heavily toasted to bring out smoky notes, roasted caramel, as well as coffee aromas and a delicate sweetness in wine, beer or distillates.
Product features:
- Flavour profile: the heavily toasted flakes lend smoky, roasted wood, caramel and coffee notes to beverages, which go well with drinks that require intensity and maturity.
- Versatile use: suitable for wines, beers, meads, as well as stronger spirits such as whisky, bourbon, cognac and fruit liqueurs.
- Ageing effect: the flakes enable liquors to quickly give an "old wine" or aged distillate effect, while enhancing the colour and aroma of the spirits, giving them a warm, golden hue.
Directions for use:
- Rinse the flakes with clean water before use to get rid of dust and particles that could make your liquor cloudy.
- For spirits, use 0.5-4g of flakes per litre of liquor, leaving for 3-6 weeks to achieve the desired flavour profile.
