1950 Press Photo Army and Navy Club of New Orleans at Mardi Gras festivities

This is an original press photo. Right in line with the current Mardi Gras festivities, the Army and Navy Club of New Orleans last weekend entertained its members at a Carnival dance in the clubrooms on Camp St. The party attracted a large number of Orleanians and out-of-towners anxious to get into the "feel" of the season. The rooms were decorated with Carnival colors and large Mardi Gras masks to form a perfect backdrop for the white ties, tails and formal dresses worn by the guests. Random, our society photographer, snapped the pictures shown below. Dr. Joseph Diaz, Mrs. Diaz, William G. Uste Jr., and Mrs. Edmund Miranne. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 02-18-1950.
