"Kuon" is an action game for PlayStation 2 released by FromSoftware on April 1, 2004.

It is based on the theme of onmyoji (exorcists) from the Heian period.

It was also released in North America in December of the same year under the title "Kuon".

Story
In Heian-kyo, people hated the idea that passions would transform into demons and ghosts and rule the night. Meanwhile, Ashiya Doman became famous as an onmyoji (exorcist).

One day, Doman received a letter that said, "Visit a strange mansion and solve its mystery."

It is said that anyone who sets foot in the mansion will never return.

Sakuya and Uzuki head there for their own reasons, but an unexpected terror awaits them inside the mansion.

Game progress
The player becomes a character who uses onmyoji (exorcists) and uses the power of talismans (shikigami) to accomplish their goals in the mansion where enemies roam.

The player first becomes the protagonist of the "Dark Chapter", and after completing it, moves on to the "Yang Chapter".

After completing the "Yin and Yang Chapter", the "Nine Grudges Chapter" begins. [1] The actual game screen is a third-person action game, and progress can be saved at save points placed throughout the stage.

A finite number of items are required to save, and the system as a whole has similarities to Resident Evil, and parts of the story have similarities to other games such as "Zero: Crimson Butterfly".

There are multiple protagonists, including a hidden character, but the play style of repelling enemies with the power of talismans is common to all of the games.
