The famous sword Nakajima Rai, which was passed down through the Sanada clan and is famous for the warlord Sanada Yukimura, who almost defeated Tokugawa Ieyasu in the Winter Siege of Osaka and the Summer Siege of Osaka, was used to produce this famous sword.

The representative swordsmith of Nakajima Rai is Rai Kuninaga, so we will explain it as Rai Kuninaga here.

Rai Kuninaga was a student of Yamashiro Rai Kunitoshi around the time of Gentoku (1329) (695 years ago) at the end of the Kamakura period.

He later moved from Kyoto in Yamashiro to Nakajima in Settsu Province (near the current Shin-Osaka Station) to train, so he has been honored as "Nakajima Rai" since ancient times and is extremely famous in the sword world.

This sword was originally a 2 shaku 6 sun long sword, but it still has the graceful curve of a Yamashiro Rai sword from the end of the Kamakura period, with a difference between the width of the blade at the base and the width of the tip. The jigane is strongly forged into a small itame grain, with a thick and fine ji-furi pattern on the base, and the hamon is a straight blade with small ji-furi pattern on the base, with a small gunome pattern and small choji pattern, a bright and clear nioiguchi pattern, and a flame-like pattern, showing the characteristics of the Rai school well. It looks like a famous sword of Rai Kunimitsu, but there is a lot of work on the blade, and it is thought that the richness of the variety is what makes it a Nakajima Rai sword.

The gorgeous mounting, with the Sanada family crest of 6 mon coin and a red copper half-dachi metal fitting with a knotted gan-gane crest, adds an extra touch of elegance to this famous Nakajima Rai sword.

This is a famous sword that we can all look forward to seeing great success in the future, so please enjoy it.
