Book published by J.B. Hayward in 1989, 118 pages. Hardback with Dust Jacket - c.19cm by 27cm (A61)

From the inside front fly leaf: Compiled in the War Office and originally published in 1921, 'Soldiers Died in the Great War 1914-19' comprises 80 separate parts which embrace every regiment and corps of the British Army. Hostilities tasted four years and three months or 1,560 days; on average the daily casualty rate of the British Army was approximately 2.000, of these more than 400 a day were killed in action. These volumes commemorate approximately 635,000 Soldiers. listed alphabetically together with their numbers; rank; full names; awards; place(s) of birth, enlistment, and residence; date, theatre and nature of death. The republication of this work fulfills not only historical and genealogical requirements but also satisfies a regimental and national archival need.

The condition of the book is generally very good. The dust jacket has some minor scuffs and light wear along the edges and corners, but the spine is intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.

When we post our books, we take great care in packaging them - first your book will be wrapped in bubblewrap, which protects the book and even keeps out any rain (in the event that it's raining when the postie delivers it!). Then we wrap your book in stiff cardboard, taking care to make sure all the corners are protected, and finally the package is wrapped in thick brown paper.
