The new “HS Series” employs a newly developed transducer with an advanced magnetic circuit design that controls and equalizes the flow of magnetic field lines, and by re-selecting and optimizing the acoustic components together, the reproduction capability has been dramatically improved.
The HS5, HS7, and HS8 feature a newly developed high-performance 1-inch dome tweeter and a thick-walled wave guide designed to minimize resonance. This combination extends the reproducible frequency of the high frequency range up to 30kHz, enabling accurate and smooth reproduction of high frequencies. In addition, a newly developed, specially designed woofer with a large magnet provides excellent response and high input resistance, and delivers low frequencies with a sense of braking with little distortion at any volume. Furthermore, acoustic components such as woofer rings and baskets have been re-selected and optimally designed to achieve a contoured low frequency range.
■The power amplifier section employs a bi-amplification system in which each of the high and low frequency bands is amplified by a dedicated power amplifier. The high-performance amplifier unit optimized for each model always provides high-quality, uniform sound with little change in sound quality.
■The enclosure of the “HS Series” is designed to thoroughly eliminate unnecessary resonance and enhance the accuracy of original sound reproduction. In addition to the use of MDF material with high rigidity and uniform acoustic characteristics, the three-way fastening method, which has long been used in wood construction as a technique with superior strength, is employed for joints. By combining the uneven surfaces of the wood without gaps between them, the joints are stronger than simple surface joints and reduce noise caused by resonance.
■The rear panel is equipped with ROOM CONTROL, which corrects the low-frequency emphasis when the speakers are placed near a wall for accurate monitoring, and HIGH TRIM, which allows precise balance settings to suit the room and application. The XLR and TRS phone inputs can be used together to flexibly accommodate all kinds of use cases, such as output from a mixer, keyboard, or audio interface.
