This is an original press photo. Tokyo: Inejiro Asanuma, 63, chairman of the position Socialist Party and the man who led the fight against the Japan-US security treaty and President Eisenhower's visit to Japan, was stabbed to death while speaking at a political rally in downtown Tokyo 10/12. Police arrested a teenage right wing student as the assailant. Asanuma died in hospital shortly after the stabbing. Photo measures 8.5 x 5.75inches. Photo is dated --1950.
