A large solid oak dining, office or library chair was made for a library at a Federal University about 1920, signed "Marble & Shattuck, Cleveland," Ohio.
Lumbar protection and the sculpted seat make them extremely comfortable.
The finish is in good normal condition for a chair this old on this American made antique furniture.
The frame is rock solid, will easily serve another generation.
Measurements are H 35.5in W 23.5in D 24in., the seat area is at 18" high.
MARBLE SHATTUCK History
Brazilla Marble started manufacturing furniture under the B. L. Marble Chair Company’s name in 1895. He was joined a short time later by Mr. Shattuck. The Company gained a national reputation for quality chairs and expanded quickly incorporating as The Marble and Shattuck chair company, Cleveland in 1901.

Consistent with age and use. Pretty good condition for its age, bones are perfect, these chairs will last a lifetime just the way they are and if buyer decides he wants them to look like new then it's really a matter of elbow work, these chairs will make any owner proud!!!!
