Features:
BEFORE STARTING:
Your vehicle must be raised a minimum of 36 inches. A floor hoist is ideal. If no hoist is available, we strongly urge the use of axle stands as a safety measure. CAUTION! Your vehicle should not be supported on a bumper jack. We recommend welding all pipe slip joints. If no welding equipment is available at the time of the installation, use the furnished clamps to secure the pipes, until they can be welded.
INSTALLATION:
1. Disconnect the battery to prevent accidental damage to the electrical system.
2. From below, remove the exhaust pipes from the manifolds.
3. Remove the spark plug wires from the spark plugs and position out of the way.
4. CHECK THE CONDITION OF THE ENGINE MOUNTS. It is recommended that new engine mounts be installed before installing the headers.
LEFT SIDE HEADER INSTALLATION:
1. Remove the factory manifold. Save the fasteners for reinstallation. 2. Clean the cylinder head of any grease, rust, and gasket material that may be present.
2. From above, install the header and gasket into place. Use the two factory washers, nuts, and supplied header bolts to fasten the headers. Torque to factory specs.
RIGHT SIDE HEADER INSTALLATION:
1. Remove the bolts holding the EGR tube to the exhaust manifold (if equipped).
2. Remove the factory manifold. Save the fasteners for reinstallation. 3. Clean the cylinder head of any grease, rust, and gasket material that may be present.
3. From above, install the header and gasket into place. Use the two factory washers, nuts, and supplied header bolts to fasten the headers. Torque to factory specs.
5. Apply silicon to the base of the EGR tube (if equipped) and reinstall to the header using the supplied hardware.
CONNECT THE EXHAUST SYSTEM:
1. From under the vehicle, reinstall the exhaust system to the headers using the supplied bolts and nuts.
NOTE: Before installing your exhaust system, replace any fluids that you may have removed or lost.
2. Inspect all points with limited clearance. Relocate any points that have direct contact with the headers. Make sure there is adequate clearance around all lines (transmission, brake, fuel, and electrical wires. Reroute as necessary.
3. Reconnect battery cables and recheck everything!
4. Start the engine and let it warm up. Check for leaks. Shut engine off and let it cool down. Check to make sure all fasteners are tight.
5. When finished, give your vehicle a test drive, checking carefully for any new noises. After several days of driving, re-tighten all the bolts.
